Anna Buckingham and Dakota (Kody) Snyder met at Grove City College during their freshman year in 2021. They were both music majors, so they had many classes together and became good friends. Kody first asked Anna out in the spring of 2022, but she turned him down because he was too redneck for her tastes (Kody and Anna spend a lot of time laughing about that now).
Later, in November 2023, he tried again, but she still needed to think about it. It took a while before she said anything else. In the middle of the college’s Christmas candlelight service on December 10th, 2023, she looked at him with a big smile and said, “I’ve thought about it. And I think we can really be something.” Because of Christmas break, Anna and Kody didn’t have their official first date until January 20th, 2024. Both Anna and Kody say that starting a relationship felt like the most natural, easiest thing to do.

They match each other’s weirdness, sense of humor, and compassion. They both love music, reading, the outdoors, and projects. Most importantly, they share a passion for pursuing a relationship with Christ. Kody admires Anna’s faith, strength, and perseverance in the face of adversity. Anna admires Kody’s ability to forgive and love unconditionally. Anna and Kody both knew they were the ones for each other on Valentine's Day 2024, only a month after they started dating. A year later, on March 30th, 2025, Kody took her to “Cobblehaus by the Falls” in Mercer, PA, which is next to a beautiful waterfall.
She suspected something, but she was still in shock when he bent on one knee and proposed. Since then, the couple has planned their wedding in 6 months while graduating college, applying for jobs, and living long distance. They've been together for a year and a half, and cannot wait to start the rest of their life together in Titusville, PA.
